Located at: The Jericho Road Project Base – 1a Chestnut Grove, Nottingham NG3 5AD (Home working involved)
The Jericho Road Project (JRP) is a Christian Urban Mission project working with those at risk of or affected by the sex industry in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Established for over 20 years, we have a team of 6 staff led by a Project Manager and supported by almost 50 volunteers from a range of churches from across the city of Nottingham. In 2019 we worked with 150 women engaged in or affected by the sex industry both on and off street. We have been adapting our work to respond to the current pandemic situation.
This is an essential new post, offering an exciting opportunity to become a key member of our dynamic staff team, as we seek to develop and increase our support for women in the community and in a supported housing context. Responsible to our Project Manager - the postholder will work closely with our Befriending, housing support and resettlement team members in particular. It will involve delivering support in both pastoral and problem-solving capacities. There will be occasional call out and weekend/evening working.
This is a permanent role funded by grants and donations which are being sought on an ongoing basis.
You should have some experience in client facing support work, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working in a team environment. You should have the ability to operate in a calm and supportive manner at all times, including in stressful contexts. Basic IT skills are required. You should be able to drive and have access to transport.
Relevant training and supervision will be provided to ensure that high quality support is developed and provided for every individual we work with.
