The Jericho Road Project (JRP) is a Christian Urban Mission project working with those at risk of or affected by the sex industry in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
 
Established for 20 years this year we have a team of 6 staff led by a Project Manager and supported by almost 50 volunteers from a range of churches from across the city of Nottingham. In 2019 we worked with 150 women engaged in or affected by the sex industry both on and off street. We have been adapting our work to respond to the current pandemic situation.

New Position:
Bookkeeper and Adminstrator 

Salary: £18,816 pro rata
Pay: £9,032 pa

Hours: 18 hours per week
Location: The Jericho Road Project Base, Chestnut Grove, Nottingham NG3 5AD (home working involved)

This is an essential and permanent new post, for which we have initial funding for a 3 month period. Our Bookkeeper/Administrator is a vital employee who will help promote the smooth running of daily operations of the charity.
 
It offers an exciting opportunity to become a key member our dynamic staff team, working to maintain, develop and improve the financial and administrative processes and systems of JRP. As a growing organisation we need an effective and efficient administrative centre to support what we do now and enable future development.

You will be responsible for operating bookkeeping and administrative systems and procedures, working with the team to support development of systems for the future work of Jericho Road Project. You will ensure continuity for the day-to-day functions of bookkeeping and administration for the project including supporting our fundraising processes.

The post-holder must be competent in using bookkeeping and office software systems. You should have some experience in this area of work, strong organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail and enjoy working in a team environment. Applicants will also have to demonstrate an ability to support and promote the Christian ethos of the JRP.

New Position:
Support Worker

Salary: £18,816 pro rata
Pay: £9,032 pa

Hours: 18 hours per week, three month temporary contract
Location: The Jericho Road Project Base, Chestnut Grove, Nottingham NG3 5AD (home working involved)

This is an essential new post, offering an exciting opportunity to become a key member our dynamic staff team, as we seek to develop and increase our support for women in the community and a supported housing context. Responsible to our Project Manager, the post-holder will work closely with our befriending, housing support and resettlement team members in particular. It will involve delivering support in both pastoral and problem-solving capacities. We have funding for an initial 3 month period but have a longer term view for this role. We are actively fundraising for continuation of funding.

You should have some experience in client facing support work, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working in a team environment. You should have the ability to operate in a calm and supportive manner at all times, including in stressful contexts. Basic IT skills are required. Relevant training and supervision will be provided to ensure that high quality support is developed and provided for every individual we work with. Applicants will also have to demonstrate an ability to support and promote the Christian ethos of the JRP.
