The Jericho Road Project (JRP) is a Christian Urban Mission project working with those at risk of or affected by the sex industry in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

 

Established for over 22 years, we have a small staff team and we are supported by around 60 volunteers from a range of churches from across the city of Nottingham. In 2022 we worked with 112 women engaged in or affected by the sex industry.

 

This is an essential new post, offering an exciting opportunity to become a key member our dynamic staff team, as we seek to develop and increase our support for women in the community and a supported housing context.  Responsible to our Project Manager - the postholder will work closely with our Befriending, housing support and resettlement team members in particular. It will involve delivering support in prayer, pastoral and problem-solving capacities. There will be occasional call out and weekend/evening working.

 

This is a permanent role funded by grants and donations which are being sought on an ongoing basis.

 

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to drive and have access to a car. You should have some experience in client facing support work, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working in a team environment. You should have the ability to operate in a calm and supportive manner at all times, including in stressful contexts. Basic IT skills are required.

 

Relevant training and supervision will be provided to ensure that high quality support is developed and provided for every individual we work with.

 

 Applicants will have to demonstrate an ability to support and promote the Christian ethos of the JRP.
